Met Gala 2026 x V&A

That’s a wrap on Met Gala 2026 and here at the V&A, we spotted some red carpet looks that look pretty similar to our collection. Sabrina Carpenter makes another appearance as an antique candlestick! Do you agree with our comparisons? Let’s see…

A photo of ASAP Rocky and Rihanna wearing a metal silver dress and a pink and black suit stood together arm in arm next to a pink and gold ornate china cup and saucer set against a pink background with a blue and yellow halo around them.

Rihanna and A$AP Rocky are rocking some 19th century chinaware at the 2026 Met Gala. Rihanna is wearing Maison Margiela by Glenn Martens and A$AP Rocky is in Chanel. If anything, they’d look great sipping tea out of this dainty little cup and saucer!

A photo of Beyonce at the Met Gala 2026 wearing a diamante skeleton outfit with pointed headdress next to a print of a skeleton illustration set against a pink background with a blue and yellow halo around each of them.

All the skelly ladies! Beyoncé is making no bones about being the belle of the Met Gala 2026 in this
Olivier Rousteing outfit. The 14th century illustration of this skeleton would look great hung up on her wall…

A photo of Blake Lively wearing a long ruffled pink pastel coloured dress with a rag rug pictured above her set against a pink background with a blue and yellow halo around them all.

Blake Lively’s pastel coloured, ruffled delight of a gown could have been used as leftover scraps for this super cool retro 1970s rag rug. Diamantés optional…

A photo of Ephraim Sykes wearing a white jacket and suit that has high shoulders next to a sculpture of an angel with it's arms crossed over it's chest set against a pink background with blue and yellow halo.

Ephraim Sykes is totally angelic in this Who Decides War’s Spring 2026 collection – we think he may fly off! The 13th century Italian angel sculpture carved by Michelozzo Di Bartolomeo would approve of this look.

A photo of Hailey Bieber stood hand on hip to side in a gold bodice and royal blue skirt dress next to a 16th century blue and gold perfume bottle set against a pink background with a blue and yellow halo.

We do hope Hailey Bieber had a perfume bottle just like this 16th century ornate beauty next to her. Her outfit, designed by Saint Laurent, is crying out for it’s match!

A photo of Lisa wearing a white dress with additional robot arms on her shoulders holding up a white veil falling to the floor. She is stood next to a white 16th century candlestick set against a pink background with a blue and yellow halo.

Lisa is wearing Robert Wun and appears to have gained some extra arms in the process! At least that’s more hands to light a candle on this 16th century candlestick! But perhaps remove the veil first…

A photo of Rihanna wearing a dark silver circular gown next to a metal bowl with carving inside set against a pink background with a blue and yellow halo around each of them.

Rihanna is serving 1930s metal bowl realness in this sparkly, silver gown. Perhaps someone could pour cornflakes and milk into both her costume and the bowl? Yummy!

A picture of Sabrina Carpenter with her hands splayed out wearing a high necked black and silver dress next to a 15th century black ornate candlestick set against a pink background with a blue and yellow halo.

Sabrina Carpenter and this candlestick could be a in a dance – or duel! The Dior gown matches the same energy at the 15th century candlestick. Both are truly enjoying their moment in the spotlight!

A photo of SZA wearing a bright yellow gown with floral headdress next to a yellow floral vase set against a pink background with a blue and yellow halo.

Did SZA take her beautiful floral headdress from this 19th century Wedgwood vase? Probably! But the vase forgives her for what is an exquisite gown by Bode. Beaming in buttercream yellows everyone – well done!

A photo of Emma Chamberlain wearing a brightly coloured silk dress by Mugler next to a 16th century ceramic bird jug in yellows, pinks and browns perched on a log - they both have blue and yellow halos set against a bright pink background.

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it’s an Emma Chamberlain SLAYING on the red carpet in Mugler – but we also think our 16th century bird jug slays too. What a perfect pair they make!
