The Sims by EA Games has come a long way from it’s initial 2000 release. Sims 4 provides highly intuitive Create-A-Sim (CAS) mechanics, streamlined Build Mode, smooth multitasking, and inclusive identity options. Sims 1 was the OG game and older players remember it fondly. We asked colleagues who played The Sims during Y2K, what horrible thing they sometimes subjected their Sim to? Here’s what they did…
Removing the pool ladder…

“I’d get the Sim in the pool ready for a relaxing swim, then remove the stairs and watch them panic. Feel a bit bad about that now…”
Trash the mansion!

“I’d absolutely wreck my mansions. I’d get the good job, save all the money, buy this massive mansion then totally trash it. Leave rubbish everywhere, get flies, live like an absolute pig. I am actually a really clean person in real life!”
I ain’t afraid of no ghost!

“I’d get a cemetery going in my back garden and have the current residents haunted by the ghost of previous ones. They’d scream their heads off. I found this very funny. Except the music that played when a ghost appeared – that was actually pretty scary.”
Evil clone!

“I’d get my Sim playing with the chemistry set and there was a way you could make them make a clone of themselves – this would be absolute chaos. They’d ruin your relationships and basically make your life a living hell. My Sim would just sit and eat pizza watching all this happen.”
Dance till you die!

“You could make your Sim literally dance until they died. That was pretty horrible.”
Burn baby burn!

“I loved having parties and setting off fireworks to entertain my guests – problem is, I’d knowingly set off too many and start a massive fire. Ooops.”
