Songs you didn’t know Harry Styles wrote for other people

So you’re a Harry Styles fan – but how much do you really know about the star? What about all the songs he’s written for other people? That’s right, not only is a great pop star in his own right, he’s also a brilliant writer. Did you know he even wrote one for Ariana Grande? Here’s five songs that Harry Styles wrote for other artists.

Ariana Grande: “Just A Little Bit of Your Heart”

Yes, that’s right – believe it or not, Harry was one of the writers on Ariana’s song “Just A Little Bit of Your Heart”, which featured on her 2014 album My Everything. Harry co-wrote the track with Johan Carlsson from Carolina Liar, who he actually worked on a few songs with throughout his career, including One Direction’s “Stockholm Syndrome” and another in this list!  You learn something new every day…

Bleachers: “Alfie’s Song (Not So Typical Love Song)”

Harry Style has also written a track for acclaimed american rock band, Bleachers. Back in 2018 he wrote “Alfie’s Song (Not So Typical Love Song)”. We were in a room together and it just kind of happened,” said Bleachers’ vocalist Jack Antonoff describing the moment the pair collaborated on the track! The happy song actually featured on the coming-of-age movie Love, Simon too.

Alex & Sierra: “I Love You”

“I Love You” was yet another song that Harry surprisingly wrote in collaboration with Johan Carlsson from Carolina Liar – who (as mentioned above) he wrote  for Ariana’s hit “Just A Little Bit of Your Heart”. This song has a secret fact only true Harry Styles fans will know: Taylor Swift wrote several songs about her former relationship with the singer, and this is also rumoured to be written about that break up too! Not many people spotted it because it was sung and released by Alex & Sierra on their 2014 debut album, but if you take a look at the writing credits, you’ll notice the name Mick Greenberg – which is actually a fake name Harry was using to hide his identity!

Michael Bublé ft. Meghan Trainor: Someday

Back in 2016, Michael Bublé called in some friends to help him write some tracks for his ninth studio album. For this particular song he phoned the friends of Meghan Trainor and Harry Styles. Megan actually even featured on the track Someday in duet with Michael. The album was mostly stacked with covers, but not many people know that Harry wrote one of the originals for him!

Cam: “Changes”

In the not so distant past – 2020 to be exact – Harry Styles gave country writing a go! According to Cam who released the song, “Changes” was co-written about outgrowing your “hometown and some of the people you’ve known for a long time”. We can imagine it was easy for Harry to relate to that given his enormous stardom! Who knew Harry had a country star in him!
