100 Years of Fashionable Womenswear: 1830s – 1930s

Step into a time machine and explore the captivating evolution of fashion from the 1830s to the 1930s. Join our assistant curator, Claire Allen-Johnstone as she unveils three dresses from the V&A fashion collection. 

First we see a brown wedding dress – yes, you read that right – a brown wedding dress from the Victorian era adorned with captivating Indian-inspired paisley. Later, Claire reveals a fashionable lace Edwardian day dress, before showcasing a luxurious 1930s silk evening gown.
