Want to learn how to design and hack robots?
Develop new programming skills and learn how to kick start your creative coding projects in this fun, intensive two day course.
Join coding specialist RaspiKidd (Dundee-based Raspberry Pi certified educator and micro:bit programmer Kerry Kidd) in a special workshop, co-designed by our Young People’s Collective.
Over the two days, you’ll have a guided tour of the Hello, Robot. exhibition and see lots of examples of inspirational robotic projects. As well as experimenting with tutorials on how to code and build your own robot, you’ll also play, test and hack a variety of existing robots including k8 and GiggleBot.
After the practical workshops you’ll also take home a free copy of micro:mag, the unofficial micro:bit magazine written by the community for the community, which was founded by editor-in-chief RaspiKidd.
With a maximum of just 10 young people, you’ll work directly with the designer in our Learning Studio and have the chance to ask all the need-to-know questions about careers in programming and get advice on any of your own coding projects. Materials and equipment for all activities will be provided. If you have your own tablet or laptop we encourage you to bring this along. There will be regular breaks throughout the day and you can bring a packed lunch or pick something up in the museum.
