Imagining the Future, Paola Antonelli in conversation with YPC
What have we learned from rapid design responses and what do we need to change?
The pandemic has raised many problems for society, services, and individuals. Design has offered solutions, but how can we use this turning point as a catalyst to redesign a better future?
Paola Antonelli is joined by members of our Young People’s Collective (YPC), along with curator Kirsty Hassard to discuss design beyond the pandemic. The YPC will also explore their role in curating the Imagining the Future section of 'Now Accepting Contactless'.
Paola Antonelli is Senior Curator of Architecture & Design at The Museum of Modern Art (MoMa), as well as MoMA’s founding Director of Research & Development. Her work investigates design’s impact on everyday experience, often including overlooked objects and practices, and combining design, architecture, art, science and technology. Paola is a co-founder, with Alice Rawsthorn, of the Design Emergency, an Instagram and book project investigating design's response to the Covid-19 crisis and its aftermath.
YPC meets weekly to co-design programmes for 14-24 year olds, develop new design-related skills and represent young people's voices throughout the museum. Interested in joining the YPC? Email youngpeople@vandadundee.org.
