Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

All at V&A Dundee offer our deepest condolences to the Royal Family.

As the longest-reigning British Monarch, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II played a pivotal role in supporting arts, heritage and culture across the nation and the Commonwealth, and acted as Patron to over 600 charitable causes during a lifetime of dedicated public service.

We were delighted to welcome Her Majesty the Queen to the V&A Dundee Community Garden in 2016, where she met with local community members.
The project worked with people living with – and recovering from – a range of health and wellbeing issues, in collaboration with Art Angel, an organisation run by and for people with experience of mental health difficulties in Dundee. Participants chatted with Her Majesty and shared their experiences of co-designing the new public space.

This was just one of many visits, both private and official, that Her Majesty the Queen made to Scotland throughout her reign – including those to her family home at Balmoral Castle, originally commissioned by Queen Victoria and Prince Albert – and exhibited her long-standing affection for the country.

Alongside all within the wider V&A family, we pay tribute to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
