Attending exhibitions
Q. Do I have to book tickets for paid exhibitions in advance?
A. David Bowie: On Tour - Due to high demand, Members will be required to book in advance. This ensures you can visit at your chosen time, without having to queue. As a V&A Dundee Member you will also have access to an exclusive priority booking window. Further details will be shared in September.
For all other exhibitions, Members will not normally need to book tickets in advance, simply show up with your Membership card to visit the exhibition. Please note, we reserve the right to change booking requirements for selected high demand events and shows.
Q. When can I start coming to exhibitions as a Member?
A. Your Membership is active from the time of purchase, and you can use your benefits straight away.
Plus Guest and Plus Three Guests Membership
Q. What’s the difference between a Plus Guest and Plus Three Guests Membership?
A. A Plus Guest Membership allows you to bring any one guest with you to exhibitions. A Plus Three Guests Membership allows you to bring up to any three guests into exhibitions.
Q. Can anybody use the Plus Three Guests Membership?
A. The Member named on the Membership card should always be present to ensure access to Membership benefits.
Renew or change your Membership
Q. I’m already a Member, how do I renew?
A. Log into your online account and head to My Membership, where you’ll find a button to take you to renew.
Q. How can I change my Membership type?
A. Please contact the Membership team if you would like to change your Membership type. Email memberships@vandadundee.org, or call us on 01382 411 660.
Members’ previews and events
Q. I have an exhibition ticket. How can I upgrade to Membership?
A. You can upgrade your exhibition ticket to a Membership for up to seven days from the date of your visit in the museum or by contacting the Membership team by phone on 01382 411 660.
Q. How many tickets can I use to upgrade to Membership?
A. You can use one ticket to upgrade to Individual Membership and up to two tickets for Plus Guest and Plus Three Guests. To upgrade, you’ll need to provide the order ID of the original purchase which can be found on your ticket.
Membership cards
Q. When will I receive my Membership card?
A. Welcome packs and Membership cards are sent within 10 working days of purchasing the Membership. If you would prefer to collect your welcome pack in the museum, please contact the Membership team by email on memberships@vandadundee.org or call us on 01382 411 660.
Q. Can I opt for a digital Membership card?
A. We do not currently offer digital Membership cards, however this should be launching soon and we will notify all Members once available.
Q. Can I use my Membership before my card arrives?
A. Welcome packs and Membership cards are sent within 10 working days. If you would like to visit V&A Dundee before your card arrives, simply pop over to the Welcome Desk in the Locke Hall and our team will be happy to issue a temporary card to access the exhibitions.
Q. How do I receive my shop and café discount?
A. When shopping or eating at the museum, show your Membership card when checking out to receive the discount.
When shopping in V&A Dundee’s online shop, apply the discount code at checkout as provided in your welcome letter.
