Multimedia Guide

Price £4.00, members 10% discount. Available from the Welcome Desk in the Locke Hall

This self-guided tour is a great way to experience the museum, whether visiting for the first time or if you are keen to build on your knowledge of Scotland’s design museum.

Our multimedia guide helps you make the most of your visit with three tours to choose from. Exploring our architecture and the Scottish Design Galleries, you’ll enjoy expert commentaries from curators, designers and some of the people who helped create the museum.

You can hear first-hand from V&A Dundee’s architect Kengo Kuma about his inspirations for the building and the Japanese connections with Charles Rennie Mackintosh which influence his work. Or listen to some of the stories behind our Scottish design objects such as the editors at Beano Studios talking about how the design element of dramatic words - Roar! Crash! Whack! - bring the comic story alive in the reader’s imagination

We advise planning at least an hour to enjoy the guide but there’s no set route, the museum is yours to explore. Or you can use any of the seats or benches around the building to stop and watch content.

Guides are available all day from the welcome desk in the Locke Hall.
