The Dalmore and V&A Dundee – Presenting The Luminary Series

Supporting the Museum

V&A Dundee and The Dalmore are working together to champion and nurture creative talent through an innovative and collaborative partnership. Together, we are cultivating a global platform for contemporary designers that celebrates Scotland’s heritage and commitment to craftsmanship.

The four-year collaboration advocates for exceptional design on a global scale and offers crucial support for the museum.

The Luminary Series

Starting in 2022, the series will see the release of three editions, each containing two exceptional whiskies: The Rare and The Collectible. Each release in The Luminary Series brings visionary design talent to the fore through a bespoke showcase of a unique bottling by The Dalmore’s whisky makers.

Decades in the making

In September 2021, the partnership produced an inspirational in-conversation event in the museum with Dr Gus Casely-Hayford OBE, Director of V&A East, and acclaimed designer, Grace Wales Bonner, as well as the release of Decades in the Making, a short film by Scottish film-makers STROMA Films, to explore creative inspiration and the development of potential over time, coinciding with seminal career moments for Architect Kengo Kuma and Master Distiller Richard Paterson OBE.
