Collection of different stitching techniques

Thready, Steady, Sew!

Free community embroidery workshops for local groups

Led by award-winning designer and embroider Chloe Patience, Thready, Steady, Sew! are free workshops that explore a range of fabulous stitching and embroidery techniques.

These workshops are aimed at local groups and organisations who support those in their community who may experience barriers to connecting with V&A Dundee. This could include people living with health inequalities or at risk of social isolation.

Working with a range of wools and threads, participants will have the chance to experiment with the embroidery process and learn how to create a variety of textures using three-dimensional effects.

These workshops also include a chance to be see the inspiration behind them, The Dundee Tapestry; a major creative community project, conceived and developed by John Fyffe MBE and Dr Frances Stevenson.

The workshops are suitable for beginners, and all materials and refreshments will be provided. Just bring your imagination!
