An intimate evening of stories with David Bowie's legendary guitarist
David Bowie called him "Mr. Rock 'n' Roll."
For more than four decades, Earl Slick was one of David Bowie's most trusted musical collaborators and longest-standing guitar players, his unmistakable playing helping shape some of the most iconic moments in rock history.
From the legendary Diamond Dogs tour and the recording of Station to Station to Bowie's unforgettable headline performance at Glastonbury 2000, celebrated as the greatest festival headline performance of all time, Slick was there for some of the most extraordinary chapters in Bowie's career. He would go on to perform alongside Bowie on A Reality Tour and contribute to his acclaimed 2013 comeback album, The Next Day.
But his remarkable story doesn't end with Bowie. Slick also worked alongside John Lennon, playing guitar on Double Fantasy and Milk and Honey, and has shared stages and studios with some of the biggest names in music.
Noel Gallagher recently said: "The guitar gods were not dealing these cards out evenly and that Bowie was a very lucky boy and that maybe one day I could find a guy like that to play for me."
Join Earl Slick for a very special evening of extraordinary stories, rare insights and behind-the-scenes memories from a lifetime spent at the heart of rock 'n' roll.
This intimate conversation offers a rare opportunity to hear first-hand about the music, personalities and moments that shaped rock history, from someone who was there.
The evening will also feature an audience Q&A, giving fans the opportunity to put their own questions directly to Earl.
This event is a collaboration between Leisure and Culture Dundee and V&A Dundee, marking the David Bowie: On Tour exhibition.
