Carbon Marks

Saturday 1 – Sunday 2 March

Come along and make your mark with our evolving interactive mural

Responding to the current exhibition A Fragile Correspondence, the Young People's Collective (YPC) invites participants to consider the universality of carbon: from life, emissions, archaeological dating and charcoal. Inspired by ‘éist’ – an Irish word meaning to listen and pay attention to the natural world – you are encouraged to contribute towards a new collaborative mural exploring an important question: How does it feel to take from nature?

Working alongside Soul of Fire, the YPC created their own artist charcoal, learning about the full process from tree to drawing material. Through mark-making with the charcoal, the mural will evolve over the weekend, growing from meaningful conversations and reflections into a dynamic interactive tapestry.

Come down to get involved, make your mark and learn about the YPC’s 12-week project working with artists and curators, considering how we give and take from nature.

This activity is open and suitable for all.
