Gallery Tour: Kimono and Craft with Sudō Reiko
Monday 19 August 2024
A rare opportunity to be guided through our Kimono exhibition with one of Japan’s most influential textile designers
Join us to explore the craft stories behind the objects in this exclusive tour of Kimono: Kyoto to Catwalk. Guided by curator Kirsty Hassard and the globally renowned maker, designer and founder of NUNO, Sudō Reiko. This tour will delve into the traditional techniques, modern practices, materials, and design processes behind the kimono on display.
Due to limited spaces, we are offering the choice of two tours: Daytime (14.00) or After Hours (18.30). Both options include your entry to the exhibition and a complimentary drink with the guides before the tour begins.
This event is developed in partnership with Japan House London. Their exhibition Design Discoveries, which explores the proposal of a national design museum in Japan, is open until 8 September 2024.
