Quant and Bazaar

Step inside the world of 60’s fashion retailing, transformed by Quant through her boutique Bazaar

Join our Curator Kirsty Hassard to explore the way Mary Quant disrupted the fashion retailing landscape of the 1960s with her boutique Bazaar, and the shopping shock waves it sent across the UK. Quant's unique approach to retailing, from window displays to fashion shows, filled Bazaar with the unrivalled vibrancy that became synonymous with her brand, going way beyond the simple merchandising of clothes.

Kirsty has worked on a range of exhibitions including 'Hello, Robot: Design Between Human and Machine', 'Now Accepting Contactless: Design in a Global Pandemic' and 'Mary Quant'. She is currently working on our upcoming exhibition 'Night Fever'. Kirsty was previously the Assistant Curator of Furniture, Textiles and Fashion at V&A South Kensington.

This live talk will include closed captions provided by Stagetext and BSL interpretation by Linda Duncan and Julie Wilson.
