Refugee Festival Scotland: Vyshyvanka – The Unbroken Thread

Sunday 16 June and Friday 21 June

Immerse yourself in the timeless beauty of vyshyvanka

Discover vyshyvanka, a traditional Ukrainian style of embroidery, where each stitch tells a story of cultural heritage. Led by Ukrainian refugees living in Scotland, you will learn how to create an embroidered piece while discovering some of the regional patterns and symbolism that make this craft so unique.

You can also explore a vibrant display of traditional embroidery which celebrates the resilience, rich history and artistry of Ukraine.

These workshops cater to all skill levels, with special child-friendly approaches to introduce Ukrainian cross-stitch patterns to young learners. Book your place today and become part of this unbroken thread.

A display of objects related to the workshop will be on display from 16 June –  22 June.

This event is part of Refugee Festival Scotland, visit their website for the full event programme.
