Soundscapes of the World

Friday 2 – Friday 9 January

Drop in to a global school project exploring cultural soundscapes

Soundscapes, also known as acoustic ecology, capture the unique sounds of an environment. They allow us to explore how listeners give meaning to sound and how sound gives meaning to the world around us.

Schools from across the world have taken part in an intercultural learning project, connecting through design, expressive arts, and outdoor learning to explore, share, and compare cultural soundscapes that reflect the rich, multi-sensory worlds they live in.

This project is in collaboration with Sharon Toner-Saunders of University of Dundee, Gary Jamieson, Schools Development Officer at V&A Dundee and Carol Murdoch of Love Outdoor Learning.

Their finished soundscape projects are being showcased across the week, drop in and explore!
