The original Reggae Klub returns to V&A Dundee for one night only!
To celebrate our current exhibition Studio Nicholas Daley we are bringing back Dundee’s legendary club night The Reggae Klub to take over the museum for one night only.
Come and see British reggae legends Dennis Bovell Aka Blackbeard and founding member of Aswad, Brinsley Forde MBE. Radio 1, Ninja Tune and NTS radio host Nabihah Iqbal, Glasgow native Bake and Bongo Club regular Messenger Sound System complete the line-up.
Nicholas is one of the UK’s most exciting young fashion designers. His international fashion shows always include performances by legendary DJs and contemporary musicians and artists, part of the wider community which make up Studio Nicholas Daley.
The Reggae Klub, one of the first reggae club nights in Scotland, was founded in The Barracuda, Dundee, by Nicholas’s parents in the 1970s. The night travelled all over Scotland bringing people together through their shared passion for music. Nicholas’s work today captures the spirit and energy of these nights, inherited from his parents.
Join us for a night of music, dancing and performances, bringing Studio Nicholas Daley to life.
Our Scottish Design Galleries and temporary exhibition Hello, Robot. will also be open and free to enter on the night.
