Ushida Findlay: Unbroken Spaces

Saturday 4 July – Friday 28 August

Discover the creativity, curiosity and courage that shaped architect Kathryn Findlay's career

As part of the RSA’s 200th anniversary celebrations, we're celebrating architect Kathryn Findlay, the first woman architect elected to the Royal Scottish Academy. This display brings together rare materials from the Ushida Findlay archive, showcasing the pioneering collaboration she formed with Eisaku Ushida and tracing the evolution of her architectural career.

Known for their bold imagination and fluid, organic forms, Ushida Findlay’s experimental work pushed the geometries of architecture. The display draws on concept drawings, models, and project documents to show how Ushida Findlay merged art, science, and landscape into an architecture entirely their own.
