A new visual and sensory experience inspired by nature
Exploring the relationship between plants, technology and people, Shylight is an installation of movement and light formed of large-scale moving sculptures suspended from the ceiling of the main hall, creating a mesmerising and captivating experience.
Formed of multiple layers of silk and powered by robotics, the 11 individual Shylights mimic the movements of plants and flowers that close their petals at night, floating down from the ceiling whilst opening, before slowly retreating upwards as they begin to close.
Created by Amsterdam-based practice studio DRIFT, the work invites you to slow down, look up and enjoy a moment of contemplation and calm.
