Through historic blankets and creative creatures, discover how history influences contemporary design
This session brings together former Glasgow School of Art lecturer Crissie White, discussing her passion for collecting historic Scottish blankets, and Aberdeenshire-born contemporary designer Donna Wilson, talking about what influences her amazing knitted creatures and other creations.
With a different focus each time, this monthly event explores Scotland’s rich design history. The series will look at historic examples of design, as well as how history influences contemporary designers. Most sessions feature two speakers making fascinating connections between the past and present.
Curated by Polly Duplock (Senior Lecturer, Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design) and David Jones (Design Historian).
