Richard Redgrave (1804–88) was a painter, and one of the driving forces behind the reform of art education in Great Britain. With Henry Cole, Redgrave supervised the new South Kensington Museum (now the V&A), for which he also designed a gallery to house John Sheepshanks's extensive collection of British art.
