Maia is a poet, researcher and artist interested in recognising and preserving cultural heritage spaces within the UK. An architecture graduate, she has worked within the third sector, developing initiatives and programmes encouraging young people from ethnically diverse backgrounds to pursue education and careers within the built environment. Maia continues to research urban mapping and preservation using technological systems, following work within the heritage sector. Her writing and poetry often lends itself to subjects of journeys, identity and coming of age.
