Busy Few Weeks

October 21, 2015

The past few weeks have been really busy since LDF, featuring a collaboration between Amy Hughes, Phil Goss and myself, which will also feature in the next Friday Late ‘The Potteries’. This was followed by Digital Design Weekend which featured the below video of a walk around the V&A:

After this I installed a new series of works that wouldn’t have been made if it wasn’t for my space at the V&A, in the solo show Optical Works, currently at the Centre for Recent Drawing just by Highbury and Islington station, which runs until the end of the month with more info here: http://www.c4rd.org.uk/C4RD/In_the_Space.html

This was followed by another solo exhibition at Evelyn Yard, which is also accompanied by a free publication of essays available at the gallery, both of which are called VIDEO, and this show runs until mid-late November with more info here: http://www.evelynyard.com/exhibitions/video/

I also just started my PhD at the Lancaster Institute of Contemporary Art, and look forward to seeing how this can collaborate with the Exhibition Road project.

For the Exhibition Road site the build is really starting to take shape, and the video I’m producing really starting to form a dialogue with the sites progress through and the recording method. I have received some videos from the guys on site, but I will be pushing for more over the second half of my time here.

Around this though the V&A I’ve been running workshops with a local high school, aiding with in workshops at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, engaging in open studios (which are becoming much more popular!) and have further workshops, a stand at Creative Quarter and an adult workshop coming in the next few weeks.

If you would like to know more please do come down to the studio anytime.

Cheers,

Jamie
