Senior Researcher at Seoul National University’s Institute of Visual Arts and a V&A Research Fellow

Dr Ji-Young Lee is a Senior Researcher at Seoul National University’s Institute of Visual Arts and a V&A Research Fellow. A design historian and wallpaper collector, she led the on-site wallpaper reconstruction at Changdeokgung Palace. She is the sole principal investigator of a five-year NRF project, "Transition from Political Symbols to Cultural Preferences": A Study on the Formation Background and Formative Characteristics of Eclecticism Interior Style in Modern Korea. Her current work at the V&A traces the global circulation and meaning of British wallpapers in early twentieth-century Korean courts.
