My own work is progressing far too slowly as there are so many distractions, most of which are interesting!
My residency was one of four areas selected by a French/German television channel to be the focus of a programme dealing with behind the scenes at the V&A. The charming French filmmakers spent almost four hours filming me working at my bench in the studio and talking about my work. We then moved to the jewellery gallery collection and from there to the jewellery department where curator Sophie and I discussed the fascinating pearl necklace shown earlier in this blog.
I had a number of other appointments also that day to discuss the various teaching projects and so another day went by without any resolution of the ideas I am working on. I have so much to do and as I am slightly more than halfway through the residency I need to try and avoid too many distractions.
