As today is Museums Takeover Day, an annual event where young people are invited to take control of museums, we thought we would show you some of the exciting Create! workshops you can take part in at the V&A (that is if you are a budding designer under the age of 19!)…

Today is a unique opportunity to work with two different jewellery makers, using two different materials in one day. Taking inspiration from examples in the V&A’s  Jewellery collection and instead of using conventional precious metals and stones, young people are learning contemporary jewellery and accessory design in easily available materials. Designers Petra Bishai and Jane Bowler are leading the workshops and the groups taking part are experimenting with plastic and metal designs, swapping over halfway through the day to get experience of both.
