It was great to have a chance to chat to our users at our first ‘meet the librarians’ session, held in the National Art Library (NAL) reading rooms in October. Feedback was heard and gratefully received. Once we have held a few sessions, I will report back on any common and/or interesting themes that arise. The smell of our plastic bags was one surprising topic that was brought up (apparently cheese for those interested)!
It was noted that the timing of the session precluded some from travelling to the Library, so we are experimenting with a later start for the next meeting. It will be held at 16.00 on 12 December 2023, during our usual library opening hours. This will be your opportunity to give us your views on our services and collections, and to ask the senior management team any questions that you have.
The session after that will be held online on 29 January at 15.00 to offer the opportunity for comment and questions to an even wider user group. Please email us at nal.enquiries@vam.ac.uk if you would like to attend the online session.
We will look forward to meeting you on the 12 December, and remember: no NAL related topic is too big, too small or too niche!
I would paddle my kayak across the Atlantic to meet Ms. Worsford. What a wonderful choice to have represent the Museum & Library.
