Disabled access arrangements to the National Art Library

November 5, 2019

The Twentieth Century Gallery is going to be refurbished and will be closed from mid November until May 2020. This will bring a fresh look and arrangement to Rooms 74 and 76 but will for a short period impact access arrangements for some visitors to the National Art Library.

As there are steps leading up to the front entrance of the National Art Library, the access route for our readers with mobility issues is via the rear doors into the reading rooms from the Twentieth Century Gallery (Room 76). This route will not be available for the duration of the refurbishment project.  Instead, access to the Library’s collections will be via  the Prints & Drawings Study Room which has step-free access. We will need to know of your visit in advance so that we can move the relevant items. If this closure will affect your access to the Libraryget in touch and we will be pleased to make arrangements for you.
