V&A screen-printed tote, featuring a design by Owen Jones (1809–74), plate from the Grammar of Ornament, published in 1856 and held in the V&A Collection.
Owen Jones (15 February 1809 – 19 April 1874) was an English-born Welsh architect. A versatile architect and designer, he was also one of the most influential design theorists of the nineteenth century. Through his work at the 1851 Great Exhibition, he was also a key figure in the foundation of the Victoria and Albert Museum.
