I am Senior Curator of Metalwork, Decorative Art and Sculpture, responsible for our collections of European Base Metals and Arms and Armour from around 1450–1900. The collections include brass, pewter, cutlery, cut steel, edged weapons, firearms, armour, Sheffield Plate, electroplate, electrotypes, 19th-century silver, scientific instruments and locks and keys. I am Lead Curator of the V&A's 19th-Century International Galleries Project (South Court) and Cast Courts Interpretation Gallery, a Trustee of the Biggin Hill Memorial Museum, Editor of the Journal of the Antique Metalware Society, a committee member of the Antique Metalware Society, a Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Pewterers and a member of the Project Advisory Board of Churchill's Chartwell. When not immersed in museum work or family I am usually out cycling, running, reading history, listening to music or watching comedy.
