The V&A Illustration Awards need you!

Do you work in the illustration industry – as an illustrator, publisher, or agent – or are you studying illustration? This is your chance to have a hand in the evolution of the V&A Illustration Awards!

The V&A Illustration Awards have long celebrated excellence in contemporary illustration practice and past winners include some of the best-known illustrators, including Quentin Blake, John Burningham, Sara Fanelli, Posy Simmonds and Ralph Steadman.

Over the years, the Awards have expanded and subtle changes have been made, including the introduction of a student prize in 2004. In 2022, we received nearly 1500 entries spanning a wide range of illustration styles from watercolour to digital painting. Last year’s awards featured categories in book Illustration, book cover design, illustrated journalism and student illustration. Times are always changing and we’d love your help to reshape the Awards to reflect the exciting new directions in which illustration is heading.
