What do silk and tourmaline stones, black onyx and metal crosses, bling gold plate, resin flowers and Swarovsky crystal have in common? They are all materials and motifs from an exclusive new fashion jewellery collection specially commissioned by the V&A and luxury fashion retailer NET-A-PORTER.COM for The Glamour of Italian Fashion 1945-2014.
Dolce & Gabanna, Etro, Missoni, Moshino and Marni have contributed to the exhibition and the collection. The pieces within truly reflect each fashion houses signature style. The Moschino brand name is splashed across a pair of knuckle duster rings seen on the catwalk in February whilst Dolce & Gabanna contribute a rosary necklace embossed with religious charms. Missoni have used their families’ iconic crochet-knit technique, Etro kept true their boho roots with a mixture of printed textiles and gems, and Marni have reinvented their famous bib and resin necklaces.
NET-A-PORTER will be donating 10% of all sales to the V&A from the collection; as always shopping with the V&A directly supports the work of the Museum.
