The colourful geometric snowflake design on this pack of 8 Christmas cards is adapted from a woodblock print wallpaper pattern by Owen Jones, dating from about 1852-1874 and held in the V&A collection. Architect and designer Owen Jones was one of the most influential design theorists of the 19th century. He studied examples of metalwork, textiles, ceramics, manuscript and woodwork from around the globe, striving to understand the underlying principles and develop theoretic principles regarding colour, geometry and abstraction.
