This ukiyo-e woodblock print depicts two women in ornate dress walking through the snow carrying a wagasa, a traditional Japanese oil-paper umbrella. The image is taken from Katsukawa Shunko’s series Snow, Moon and Flowers, created in the 1810s and held in the V&A archive.
