This set of eight is inspired by Herbert Percy Horne's The Angel with the Trumpet, which is on our collection.

In 1843, the V&A’s first director, Sir Henry Cole, introduced the idea of the Christmas card when he commissioned 1,000 Christmas cards which he used for himself and sold to the public. Since then, Christmas cards have become a seasonal staple, and every year we revive Cole’s entrepreneurial spirit by launching our own exclusive card ranges.
