This papier mâché bauble has been hand-made by artisans in Kashmir for Fair to Trade. Fair to Trade ensure products are manufactured under conditions that meet recognised employment standards, including fair wages, providing clean and safe working environments, and providing skills training and promotion. The motif of leaves and berries is taken from a design for textile or wallpaper by George Charles Haité, dating from 1879 and now held in the V&A archive.
