This paper chain kit is printed with a design by Samuel Matley & Sons in 1824 and held in the V&A archive. The Matleys were a family of calico printers creating textile designs from their factory in Cheshire in the 19th century.
Each set contains 50 chain links with a pop-and-slot connection, meaning the decoration can be disassembled and used again year after year.
