Wonder at the splendour of the V&A's South Kensington home at Christmas time with this captivating decoration. The windows glow with a warm light, the silhouettes of artworks and artefacts just visible through the apertures; fir trees flank the entrance, topped with stars emblazoned with the all-important letters; a whippet takes a stroll, drawn to the scent of the cart selling bags of hot chestnuts. Created exclusively for the V&A, the wooden ornament is decorated on both sides, displaying the interior and exterior of the building.
Polly Fern has collaborated with the V&A to create a Christmas collection based on her whimsical illustrations of the V&A South Kensington's Cromwell Road entrance and marble foyer in full festive finery. An illustrator and ceramicist based in Suffolk, Polly draws inspiration from storytelling, nature, history, antiques and her two pet whippets to inform her charming, characterful designs.
