The design for this stylish pin badge is based on the artist’s imagining of an African space traveller; the hair represents an orbit, or planets circled by crescent moons, while the directions of the linework in their hair mimic patterns found in mudcloth and àdìre textiles. UK-based creative Dorcas Magbadelo uses bold colours and patterns in her work, taking inspiration from elements of her Nigerian heritage to create powerful and striking illustrations that capture the joy of Black womanhood.
