"The Curtain Rises..." by Freya Pocklington

Limited edition of 75, with fewer than 10 remaining.

Embossed with a V&A stamp, hand numbered and signed by the artist.

Created exclusively for the V&A, 2023.

The result of artist Freya Pocklington’s meticulous research, this exclusive limited-edition print was created exclusively to celebrate the V&A’s Diva exhibition. Featuring iconic artists and objects featured in the exhibition and the V&A collections, Freya invites us to discover hidden details within her artwork.

Maria Callas, a true Diva, is centre stage, standing on the welcome desk in the V&A entrance hall. She is surrounded by other icons including Cher, Tina Turner, Prince, Beyoncé and Marian Anderson. Who else can you spot?

This print has been reproduced from the original ink and pastel artwork. Working closely with the V&A team, Freya has created a unique artwork filled with references to the exhibition’s rich content.

About the exhibition
DIVA

DIVA

DIVA celebrates the power and creativity of iconic performers, exploring and redefining the role of 'diva' and how this has been subverted or embraced over time across opera, stage, popular music, and film.
