This beautiful scarf is woven from Eri silk in Assam, India, exclusively for the V&A. Eri silk is also known as "peace silk", as it allows the moths fly from the cocoon before spinning commences. These silk worms are raised in villages around Assam, and then the yarn is dyed sustainably using local plants.
