Reproduced from the original fashion plate held in the V&A archive, this print is as superlative as its title. The engraving is part of a set of 33 fashion plates created by Georges Jacques Gatine in 1814, taken from drawings by Horace Vernet and Louis-Marie Lanté and providing a valuable record of men’s French fashions of the period.
