This beautiful Japanese woodblock print from the V&A archive, seen in the exhibition Japan: Myths to Manga, is presented with a slick black mount to compliment the colourful artwork. Depicted is the annual Kangen-sai Festival dedicated to the deities of the Itsukushima Shintо̄ Shrine in Japan. Kangen-sai is a floating festival, and the musicians are towed on a beautifully decorated craft.
