The V&A Shop has collaborated with British label Natthakur to create this saddle bag, produced in a limited batch and crafted by hand in the UK using vegetable-tanned leather. Founded in East London in 2005, Natthakur embodies classic British design in their hand-crafted products.
These bags are made of vegetable tanned leather from the Tuscan region of Italy, where the slow vegetable tanning process is strictly regulated by the Italian Consortium who guarantee the manufacturing processes of the leather is compatible with the local ecosystem.
The Tuscan Tanning District is certified by EMAS (Eco-management and Audit Scheme), which encourages the implementation of responsible environmental strategies. The consortium ensures the leather is a by-product of the EU meat industry, the tanning process is metal-free using traditional and natural products from renewable sources.
The guarantee label that accompanies these bags is a guarantee of quality by the consortium. Scan the QR code for traceability and further information.
