Designed by May Morris for Morris & Co., this luscious Honeysuckle design was created as a woodblock print on paper, intended for use as a wallpaper print. An influential designer, teacher and embroidery pioneer, May Morris, daughter of William, embraced free-form embroidery with an emphasis on free-hand stitching, delicate shading and artistic expression. She worked closely with her father, designing patterns for his company and managing the embroidery department at Morris & Co.
