Charlie the owl by Donna Wilson

This characterful knitted owl, hand-made in the UK, is inspired by C.F.A. Voysey’s iconic wallpaper design dating from 1897, held in the V&A archive. The pure lambswool owl has been brought to life by British designer Donna Wilson, who has been creating curious creatures, cushions and homeware since 2003.

 

Voysey was an architect, textile and furniture designer, born in Yorkshire in 1857. He is remembered for his dense yet simple representations of the organic, with a focus on botanical and animal imagery.
