This poster was to encourage people to walk short distances rather than use public transport, leaving room 'for those who have longer journeys'. The design depicts a pony that appears to have a green shoe for a body.

Lewitt-Him Studio
Born Jerzy Himmelfarb in Lodz, Poland (then Russia) on 4th August 1900, George Him shortened and anglicized his name in 1933. Him studied law, then religion but registered at the Leipzig Academy for Graphic Art in 1924 as he wanted to pursue a more creative career path. He worked as a graphic designer in Poland and Germany where he helped establish the KAGR (the Circle of Advertising Graphic Artists) and formed a partnership with the artist Jan Lewitt in 1933. Jan Lewitt (1907-1991) was born in Poland and was a self-taught graphic artist and designer. Both men relocated to England and set up Lewitt-Him Studio in London in 1937. When the partnership dissolved in 1955 Jan Lewitt returned to painting while George Him continued as a graphic designer.
