Helen Hancocks’ gloriously cheerful illustration, depicting a range of characters sporting weird and wonderful hats, is a design adapted from Hancock’s 2018 publication Why Do We Wear Clothes? Created by Helen in collaboration with the V&A, the book features stunning clothes and fashion facts from designers and cultures around the world.

Helen Hancocks graduated with a first-class degree in illustration with animation from the Manchester School of Art in 2011. She lives and works in the UK as an author and illustrator, mainly using gouache paint and crayons to create her humorous, colourful pieces.
