This set contains two notebooks made from recycled paper, each featuring a design inspired by artist Yinka Ilori’s British-Nigerian heritage. The Ife design is named for the Yoruba word for love, with a pattern reflecting the interconnectivity that love creates. The Owu notebook features an interpretation of a childhood memory of Ilori’s mother doing his sister’s hair in the traditional Isi Owu style. Yinka Ilori is a multi-disciplinary artist, drawing on the parables and verbal traditions of his British-Nigerian heritage to create a bold visual language that resonates with a global audience.

Created exclusively for the V&A.
